How To See Photos Liked by Someone on Facebook

With almost one-third of the global population on Facebook, it is an extremely tempting idea to start stalking people. Today, the platform has about 3 billion active users. Most probably, you will find a lot of your friends, family, co-workers, and favorite celebrities on Facebook. So, finding out about their likes and other activities on the platform can tell you a lot about their personality.

The LIKE button is an essential tool in anybody’s Facebook experience. Also, receiving likes shows some sort of interest in your posts. On the other side, pressing the like button is a sign of your approval, admiration, or support of the content. That is why many people are interested in seeing what kind of photos a person likes on Facebook. Unfortunately, nowadays, it is not that easy to check the likes of another user. To calm your frustration, let us explain the reasons:

Why is it not easy anymore to see photos liked by someone on Facebook?

In general, when you like a photo on FB, anyone who follows you or is on your “Friends list” can see that. However, this is not the case for every photo you like. It depends if Facebook’s algorithm decides to show this activity on your Newsfeeds.

In the past, you could easily search for photos liked by a certain user on Facebook. Over the years, the platform has decided to enhance its privacy policies. To protect users, people’s activities on Facebook are not that exposed anymore. Today, if you want to search for someone’s likes on the platform, you will have to do it manually. Thus, Facebook’s search feature will not be of much help.

Even the manual path is not that smooth. If you are lucky, the user activities you are looking for might appear organically on your Newsfeed. However, you cannot fully rely on that. After all, it comes down to Facebook’s algorithms. That is why you will need to do certain tricks. Yet, you probably also will not get the accurate results you are looking for.

Here are some of the reasons why you cannot see user’s activities as easily as before:

Changes in Facebook’s search feature

Back in 2015, an interesting update was made to the platform. It allowed people to use the search feature to find all the photos liked by someone. All you needed to do was write: “Photos liked by [user’s name]” in Facebook’s search box. It was as simple as that.

As Facebook’s privacy policies and data security came under fire in recent years, enhancements were made. Consequently, one of the biggest changes was disabling the search for other people’s activities on the platform. This gave users more freedom to like and comment as much as they wanted on Facebook. That way, no one can fully trace their activities anymore.

After the recent updates, you can only see some of your friend’s activities on your Newsfeed. Trying to find what pictures someone likes on facebook is now a much more complicated process. The good news is it is NOT impossible.

However, Facebook’s new privacy policies are not the only reason why you might not see photos liked by your partner, for example, on the platform. Here are some of the other reasons:

They have restricted your account

To cut the connection with someone on Facebook, you do not need to block them anymore. Now, you can just restrict their profile. This option is considered the toned-down version of blocking people. So, both of you will still be “Friends” on Facebook. However, they will only be able to see your public posts or when you tag a mutual friend. Other than that, your activities on the platform will be invisible to them. If someone on Facebook restricts your account, you will not get notified. However, you can figure it out, when only their public posts appear to you.

You were blocked

When someone blocks you on Facebook, all connections between you and them will be broken. As a result, you will not be able to see their activities or even access their page on the platform. Just like being restricted, Facebook will not notify you that someone has blocked you. However, you will notice when you cannot view their profile anymore.

Ways to check photos liked by someone on FB

These are some of the best ways to see the pics that a specific person liked on the platform. So, give them a try, and you may get what you expect.

Check their Facebook activity log

This method will not work if you do not know their account credentials. In fact, you need to log into their Facebook profile. That is the only way to check their activity log. So, if your boyfriend or girl frond, for example, allows you to access their account, then, try this, but of course, you need other permission to log in.

On Facebook, the activity log is like the history of someone’s account. There, you can see all the photos or posts they have liked, all the comments they have made, and anything they have posted. However, activity logs are private. They are visible only to the owner of the Facebook account.

Now, to check someone’s Facebook activity log, follow these easy steps:

  1. Log into their account.
  2. Go to their profile page.
  3. Tap on the three dots next to the “Edit profile” button.
  4. Choose “Activity log”.
  5. Tap on “Interactions”.
  6. Choose “Like and reactions”.

The results will show you all the posts, photos, or videos this person has ever liked on the platform. The activities are displayed in chronological order. To see the full post or photo, tap on the three dots next to the activity. Then choose “View”.

Search your Newsfeed

Luck plays a significant role in this method. Yet, it is still worth giving it a shot. Unlike the activity log, this method can show you only the most recent likes and reactions someone has made. You also need to be Friends on the platform for this to work.

Facebook Newsfeed usually shows the latest activities and posts of accounts you are following or people on your “Friends List”. Now, to search your Newsfeed follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Facebook account. But you have to use a web browser on the laptop. You cannot use this trick on the mobile app.
  2. Keep scrolling down your Newsfeed for a while. This will load more content.
  3. Now, press CTRL + F on your keyboard.
  4. A search bar will appear. Next, write the Facebook username of the person you are trying to find.
  5. The results will display any activity of this user that has appeared on your Newsfeed.

Unfortunately, you cannot filter the search results here. So, you will see any activity of this user, not just the photos they liked.

Receive notifications about future activities

In general, Facebook will not notify you about the activities of another account. Usually, you will just receive notifications about their interactions with your profile. However, you can change some of the settings to start getting alerts about the activities of a certain user, like your spouse, for example.

Keep in mind that you will not get notified only about the likes of this person. The notifications can include anything from publishing a post to commenting on a picture. Also, you will not receive notifications about every single activity this user does on the platform. Yet, it is still considered a helpful method. To try it out, here is what you need to do:

  1. Log into your Facebook account.
  2. Go to this person’s profile page.
  3. Under their profile picture, you will see the “Friends” button. Click on it and choose “Edit Friend Lists”.
  4. Choose “Close friends”.
  5. Click “Done”.

Now, you have added this person to your “Close friends” list. This means Facebook will start sending you notifications about some of their activities on the platform. Do not worry! Facebook will not inform this user that you have moved them to your “Close friends” list. Only you will know that.

Work around the algorithm

On your Newsfeed, Facebook’s algorithms usually show the activities of users you interact with the most. The AI considers them your close friends. So, it starts showing you more and more about their interactions and posts.

To trick the algorithm, start interacting a lot with the person you want to trace on Facebook. You can react to their posts, write them comments, and even chat with them on the messenger. All these activities will translate into seeing more about this user in your Newsfeed.

No one can deny that Facebook is one of the most used platforms in the world. One of the critical reasons behind this success is the ability to track your friends’ activities. People are always curious about the interests, likes, and dislikes of others. Before Facebook, we did not have these insights into the lives of others.

Curiosity is not the only reason why you might want to trace someone’s activities on Facebook. Some men or women use the platform to keep an eye on their partners. It does not have to be a trust issue. You might just want to see what your boyfriend/girlfriend likes to understand them better.

The photos someone likes on Facebook can say a lot about their taste and personality. So, it can tell you about their hobbies, fashion styles, food preferences, and much more. Yet, social media can never compare to the real world. They can just provide hints and clues that you can use as guidance.

There is always much more to the story than the eye can see. Do not just count on social platforms to learn more about someone!
