Redirect all the 404 Not Found Links to the Homepage in WordPress

For many reasons, the web pages and posts can be removed over time for any reason. That’s normal and there is no problem with the 404 not found pages, but, when the number of these links becomes important, things need your intention, to keep your SEO and never lose it.

At the same time, if you have a WordPress plugin that should detect these broken links, but it can’t precede all your posts, then you can use the best method and solve your problem easily in WordPress.

Redirecting ‘”Not Found” pages

There is a great WordPress plugin called All 404 Redirect to Homepage and you have to install and activate it easily. That’s all that you have to do, no settings and no more options to set up and configure. In a few clicks, you will save your blog’s optimized settings, and never let the not found pages kill your website ranking in search engines.

The great thing about this free plugin is the 301 redirection option. It keeps the SEO for better ranking, and you can keep all the value from the removed pages or links.

I see the problem of the broken links with both, new, and established blogs. Every time you log in to your Google Webmaster Tools, you will find some of these notices, about 404 links that Googlebot can’t find.

In this case, you don’t have to worry about that. Not found pages are not big problems like many people think, they are a part of the web’s nature. Google and Bing have their ”Not fund pages”. Links can be removed or disabled permanently, in other cases, the link itself can be programmed to stay for a limited time, like the promotional offers and so on.

In other words, don’t kill yourself with hard work searching for how to find the Not found links. The only case to find a solution is when you see thousands of these pages, and you can’t find a logical reason for that.

In that case, you need to redirect those pages using the above plugin. At the same time, make sure that everything is working properly, and you don’t have problems with your server settings and other options.

The broken link checker is a WordPress plugin that can help find pages and links that need intention. But sometimes, it gives wrong results, and the pages that work properly can be marked as broken. That’s why using the above plugin will save time and make things better.

Even if you forget to update pages, and modify, or redirect their old links manually, the plugin works automatically and redirects them. It’s a time-saving tool that every WordPress user should install.

Please make sure to update your plugins when new versions are being realized. It’s a good idea to have all the plugins updated and working as they should do. Or you will risk your full website files and that’s what you don’t need.

If you have a redirection plugin that you’ve installed, make sure to disable it, or at least, remove the links to avoid problems with double-check requests, and other things that make things complicated. You have a single plugin that should do the job exactly as you expect.
